The Tesla Model X was unveiled in 2012 and made available on the market in the third quarter of 2015. The full-sized luxury crossover SUV is the first all-electric vehicle with a 5,000 lb towing capacity and is well known for its falcon wings doors. The American automobile manufacturer has seen success with the 2016 model and is now doing final touches on a new model- the 2017 Tesla Model X SUV. The upcoming car is a state-of-the-art one, with awesome visuals, a high-tech cabin and a very environment-friendly powertrain.
The new car is based on the Tesla Model S platform and has a futuristic exterior design. The entire body is characterized by an excellent flow and has efficient aerodynamic features. Engine and Performance
Tesla provides a choice of two battery packs (75kWh & 90kWh) which are boosted by electric motors. Concerning the motors, the car can have motors with an equal capacity of 259 hp or motors with different capacities of 259 hp and 503 hp- one located at the front and the other at the rear. The former option (equal-capacity motors) is designed for the 90D model while the latter option (different-capacity motors) is for the P9OD model.
When it comes to the performance, the all-electric SUV can accelerate from 0 mph to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. The mileage is estimated at 255 mi while the MPG at 37 kWh/100 mi city and 35 kWh/100 mi. The car comes with a rear-wheel drive, and as mentioned above, it has a towing capacity of 5,000 lb.
Price and Release Date
According to reliable sources, the 2017 Tesla Model X SUV will sell at $132,000 for the 90D model and $142,000 for the P9OD model. The release date is scheduled in the first half of 2017, but this may change depending on the factors affecting its production.
