The 2020 Ford Kuga is coming completely redesigned. The new, third generation of the popular crossover is coming this year with lots of novelties, if we can rely on the latest reports. Considering that the current generation has been around for about eight years, it seems like a perfect time to see changes.
The new model will come with changes in all aspects, starting from a new platform, new styling, interior design, engines etc. The testing model has been spotted on the road and it looks like it is in an advanced stage of development. Therefore, we have no doubt it will come by the end of the years.
- New design
- Efficient engines
- Good driving dynamics
- Spacious cabin
- Rivals look more stylish
- Tough competition
The current, second generation of this compact crossover will be replaced after eight years of production. It will come with novelties in various aspect, starting from a new platform and completely new mechanics. The new design will bring improvements in terms of efficiency, but we count on better driving characteristics as well. Of course, a new styling is about to come as well. Once again, count on a heavy influence of the legendary Focus.
The new 2020 Ford Kuga will be based on the same design language and it will feature practically the same front face and very similar rest of the vehicle.
On the inside, we also expect a lot of influence from the popular hatchback. Moreover, the two models will feature the same dashboard design. The new 2020 Ford Kuga will come with the same dash, which keeps many controls physical, which most drivers still consider more convenient. Also, the whole cabin will feature finer materials and higher overall quality, so the new model should be able to compete with rivals like Honda CR-V, VW Tiguan, Toyota RAV4 and other models in the class. Of course, count on more standard equipment as well, especially in terms of latest tech goodies.
Once again, we expect 2020 Ford Kuga to mimic the recently redesigned Ford Focus. Therefore, base models should come with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit. We count on a new 1.5-liter engine as well, which will count in at least two versions when it comes to the power output.
Considering that Europe is the primary market for this crossover, count on familiar 2.0-liter diesel unit in the offer as well, which will also come in several output variants. The future will bring electrified versions to us as well, both mild and full hybrid models.
2020 Ford Kuga Release Date and Price
The 2020 Ford Kuga should arrive sometime in the second half of the year, probably in the third quarter. The price shouldn’t be much different compared to the current model, which starts at around 25,000 Euros.
