2020 Chevrolet Captiva should be truly European model, but according to the information we have, it will be mostly UK model produced in cooperation with the American engineers. The production started in the UK plant, with the assistance of the designers and engineers from GM’s factory in the US.
- The models are modern and large, with redesigned details.
- There are few interesting engines under the hood.
- There is no much difference from other models in the class.
- There are no visible changes in design or equipment in the cabin
The design of 2020 Chevrolet Captiva is actually not much different from its US brothers. It looks like Antara, but also like famous cars that represent the main competitors, too. That is why you will recognize similarities with the Hyundai Santa Fe or Nissan X-Trail.
However, there are visible changes on the front end, along with slightly shorter front bumper and wider front lights. The rear end is not particularly changed, except the new taillights and few additions on the rear bumper. There are no changes in size, while the model stands on the 18-inch and 20-inch wheels.
The cabin inside of 2020 Chevrolet Captiva is not particularly changed from the last year model. At least we could see that on photos. This model should be known as the model that is prepared for young buyers and families, so it is not strange that they have made it comfortable and large.
At first glance, there is an impressive large dashboard, with also large center cluster and 8-inch touchscreen on the top of it. There should not be changes in the size of the cabin, so space between rows is the same as before.
There should not be significant changes in the engine that come with 2020 Chevrolet Captiva. As the standard model comes a 2.0-liter petrol model with 147 horsepower of strength. There should be offered a version with a 2.2-liter diesel model that makes the model stronger to 236 horsepower of strength.
It is not the only option, though. There should be another option, as they said for the UK market only, with a 2.4-liter petrol engine and 169 horsepower of strength. Not particularly different from the versions that currently exist on the market, with 161 and 181 horsepower of strength and 258 and 295 pound-feet of torque.
2020 Chevrolet Captiva Release Date and Price
As we were able to see from the photos, 2020 Chevrolet Captiva will be a great competitor to European crossovers and SUVs in the future. Those changes that the manufacturer has made have improved the model and made it more attractive and interesting to new buyers.
We should not forget about the engines and strength they offer. All should justify the price of $30,000 which is projected starting price for the model. Expect it in the middle of the year.
