According to some recent information we have got, an updated version of the Volkswagen’s pickup truck has been on its way to hit the showrooms soon. The new Amarok is going to make its debut as a 2019 Volkswagen Amarok model with some minor changes and refreshments.
When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Volkswagen Amarok, this model is going to make its appearance as a mid-size pickup truck. It is already considered a serious rival to models such as the Toyota Hilux and the Ford Ranger. The rugged pickup truck is going to be available in two configurations – as a single cab and a double cab. The double cab will offer three trim levels – Base, Trendline and Highline. The new Amarok will keep most of its features unchanged, but those minor updates and refreshment will happen mostly around the front fascia. You will notice a grille that will be redesigned and divided in three segments by two parallel chrome bars. Also, there will be the xenon headlights with the LED daytime running lights. Looking at the side profile, the new Amarok could offer the brand-new optional side steps for easier access. The truck will be standing on 22-inch aluminum wheels. In the back part of the vehicle, you will find a restyled rear bumper as well as the LED taillights. The new Amarok is also expected to improve its towing capability.
Whichever configuration you choose, the interior of the 2019 Volkswagen Amarok will be able to perfectly accommodate five adult passengers. Its cabin will be modern, comfortable and luxurious. The front seats will be heated and power-adjustable in 14 ways. The seats will be covered in premium leather and the rear seats will be a bit raised comparing to the front ones, just like at the cinema. The driver will get a leather-wrapped multifunctional steering wheel as well as a 6.0-inch LCD display on the dashboard with the infotainment system. It will provide features such as cruise control, CD/MP3 player, AM/FM radio, Bluetooth, USB, App Connect and Wi-Fi. Safety systems and driver assist features will be included as well. Some of them are Park Pilot system, airbags, ABS system and a rear view camera.
There has been more than one option considered under the hood of the 2019 Volkswagen Amarok. The first possibility is a 2.0-liter TDi with its 180 horsepower and 225 pound-feet of torque. The more probable version could come with a 3.0-liter V6 TDi that delivers up to 220 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The final option includes a 4.2-liter V8 that would produce up to 420 horsepower. The new Amarok will come as an all-wheel drive and it will be mated to either six or an eight-speed automatic transmission.
