We have some great news for all the fans of Subaru models. The fifth generation of the Forester has been on its way to hit the showrooms as a 2019 model. Since the last update in 2013, the fans have been waiting to see the next-generation Forester and its changes and improvements, and you can bet that they will be more than satisfied.
Probably the greatest improvement that the 2019 Subaru Forester will reveal to the fans refers to its exterior features. According to the information we have got, the Forester will get a new Subaru Global Platform. This new architecture will enhance this model and its features in so many ways. First of all, the new Forester will have larger dimensions and longer wheelbase than its predecessor. It means that you will get more comfort and space inside its cabin. Speaking of cabin, it will be quieter because a platform like this will also provide much smoother ride and reduce the vibrations. Another improvement will happen in terms of handling, safety and stability. When it comes to appearance, the new Forester will hit the market as a more truck-like vehicle with boxy shape. It has already been compared to other next-generation models such as the three-row Ascent and Impreza, probably because they share the platform. The Forester will get a grille similar to these models, newly-designed bumper and LED headlights that will be placed higher. The taillights found in the rear part of this crossover have also been inspired by previously mentioned models.
As we have already mentioned, the new platform of the 2019 Subaru Forester will also have a significant role inside its cabin, too. The longer wheelbase will only make more space for you and your passengers and you will not have to worry about the exterior noise and vibrations. These will be reduced so you can enjoy the ride inside your quiet cabin. Subaru will also use some high-quality materials and upgrade its technology. Safety systems and driver assist features such as blind-spot monitoring, a rearview camera and lane-keeping assist will be included as well.
There is more than one possible engine option under the hood of the 2019 Subaru Forester. However, these have not been officially confirmed. The new Forester might keep using its standard 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated Boxer engine, mated to a CVT. The other version could come with a 2.0-liter flat-four turbocharged that is expected to deliver 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It might also abandon the CVT and use a six-speed manual transmission. All-wheel drive system will come as standard.
2019 Subaru Forester
It seems that the release date of the 2019 Subaru Forester should be expected in fall 2018, probably October. The price details have not been confirmed, but it should be similar to the current which starts at $23,700.
