The lovers of small and practical cars with great fuel economy will love the fact that the next-generation Nissan Micra has been on its way to hit the showrooms as a 2019 model. The company revealed the concept of new Micra at the Paris Motor Show in October. This car will offer some serious updates and improvements in terms of design, but also some new engine options.
When it comes to exterior of the 2019 Nissan Micra, we can say that this model will be far better-looking and more modern than its predecessor. In fact, some of the changes and improvements that this will undergo will not give away an impression that you are dealing with a typical small car. According to the information we have got, it seems that the next-generation Nissan will not utilize a new platform. It will rather keep the one seen on the current model, but the vehicle will get bigger dimensions and seem lower. The overall exterior design of the new Micra appears more aggressive and sportier. In the muscular front fascia, you will notice its big V-shaped chrome grille that together with a redesigned bumper give this model a mean look. There is also a set of headlights with LED daytime running lights. The Micra will stand on 15-inch wheels.
Inside the 2019 Nissan Micra, you will once again face some significant updates and improvements. You should not expect anything luxurious or some high-quality materials, but the cabin will be far more superior compared to its predecessor. There will be enough legroom and space to accommodate up to five adult passengers. Even the base model will satisfy your needs with the equipment it offers. Nissan will also upgrade its technology and the driver will get a new dashboard as well as a 7.0-inch touch-screen display with the latest infotainment system. It will provide features such as navigation system, satellite radio, voice control, air conditioning, audio system with 8 speakers, USB ports, Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Some of the safety systems and driver assist features include cruise control, high beam assist, lane departure warning, ABS, parking sensors, blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition system and emergency braking with pedestrian recognition.
There has been more than one option considered under the hood of the 2019 Nissan Micra. It will depend on the market it has been aimed at. One possibility includes a base 1.0-liter with 70 horsepower or a 1.2-liter petrol engine with 80 horsepower. The other option is a 1.6-liter inline-four engine in higher trim levels that can hit up to 200 horsepower, but this has not been confirmed. The new Micra should keep its five-speed manual transmission.
