2019 Honda CR-V has no much changes and versions besides one, the most attractive change – in engine type and strength. As we heard from the manufacturer, it should be the first crossover from Honda’s that will get a hybrid engine besides all petrol ones. If that is true, it will compete with many models on the market nowadays and surely even better-sold model than it is now.
When it comes to the exterior design, 2019 Honda CR-V should not be much changed from the last model. The reason is the very high interest of the last year model and even 375,000 buyers of 2017 model. As the manufacturer announced a significant change for 2020 model, they have not wanted to change this model that much. There is the same cute shape and design of this crossover, with slightly sharpen rear end and many curved lines and dents on the sides.
The cabins in previous CR-V models were attractive and modernized enough so the manufacturer had no reasons to change it in 2019 Honda CR-V. That is the reason why we were not so interested in novelties in that field, even though the manufacturer announced few improvements. Depending on the trim option, cabin could get large 8-inch touchscreen together with the 5-inch one in base model, Pandora streaming audio, Apple Car Play or Android connection, and many other things, all in very comfortable and large cabin, with 40.4 inches for legs and 39.2 cubic of the cargo space that grow to 75.8 cubic when seats are folded.
There are rumors that 2019 Honda CR-V could be the model that Honda uses as first crossover-hybrid in their line. In that case, the manufacturer will not use the proven 2.4-liter petrol unit with 184 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque and 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit with 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. If they really make a hybrid combination they will take 2.0-liter petrol unit to combine with at least two battery-powered electric motors and get 212 horsepower combined.
2019 Honda CRV Release Date and Price
If our information is true and 2019 Honda CRV get a hybrid engine, it could be released at the end of the year, or even in January 2019. However, new version with the old petrol engines should be on the market in fall 2018. The price of petrol engine should obviously be the same, meaning $25,000 for the base model, while the price of the hybrid engine is not known yet. The greatest competitors of the model are Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, and Mitsubishi Outlander, but we can mention the models that share with CR-V many similarities like Mazda CX-5, Volkswagen Tiguan, 2019 Jeep Cherokee, 2019 Subaru Forester, and 2019 Ford Escape.
