2019 Ford Expedition comes after a large redesign that happens last year, so buyers should not expect many changes in this model again. The last year model was fully redesigned and brought changes in size, design and even appearance. That means that we should expect the same design, shape and colors pallet, with only minor changes in details.
As we said, you should not expect major changes in 2019 Ford Expedition from the last model, even though there are visible updates in that field, too. The new Expedition is larger than last year model and has new version Expedition Max as much longer with additional trunk behind, it reminds on new Lincoln Navigator. Both, base model and Max will be offered in three trims, XLT, Limited, and Platinum, but every one of them have larger cargo space for 19.6 cubic feet. When it comes to the design, it is now closer to Explorer, especially in the front end, with a recognizable and attractive mesh grille and squared lights, above wide air intake and small fog lights. The car has metallic protection on the bottom and large wheels. The rear end is, as we said, longer and has dark windows with the almost squared angle between trunk door and roof.
The cabin is not much changed from the last model, so interior in 2019 Ford Expedition is the same wide and spacious with great features, comfortable seats, and many functions and devices. The major change is in wider leg room in the second row, new USB ports for the second row and wireless charging. Besides that, the manufacturer obviously used new color and materials, which all look much more elegant.
Not only that the engine in 2019 Ford Expedition is offered as the only option in all trim, but it is also the same as on the previous model. That is a 3.5-liter V6 model that produces 400 horsepower of strength and 480 pound-feet of torque. There is a reason why the manufacturer has not changed it; it is capable of towing even 9,300 pounds, much more than any other SUV in class. The car is offered as a rear and all-wheel model, so buyers will be able to choose. In terms of safety, the only tested feature is automatic emergency braking marked as “Good”, but other features have still not tested so we cannot say for sure if they are on the top of the class.
2019 Ford Expedition Release Date and Price
2019 Ford Expedition joins the group of other models from Ford, meaning that releasing date should be at fall, most likely at September. With all those changes, it is not expected that Expedition will change its price, so expect the same price range as before, from $53,000 to $76,500. Competitors are: Chevrolet Suburban, Toyota Sequoia, and GMC Yukon.
