The Panamera model has been present in the market since it was first revealed at the 2009 Shanghai International Auto Show. In 2013 it was introduced as a plug-in hybrid and now it is going to appear as a 2018 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. Next to the 918 Spyder, this will be the most powerful Porsche model.
Forget the coupe because the new 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is going to appear as a four-door luxury sedan. A lot similar to previous Panameras, the new model will as well keep the familiar 911 low nose. It will be standing on standard 21-inch wheels. However, the new Turbo S E-Hybrid will be available in two wheelbase versions – the standard and the long-wheelbase version named Executive edition. The other version will be 5.9 inches longer which provides more space. In the front fascia, we have also noticed larger air intakes and the sweptback headlights featuring daytime running lamps. The sporty appearance has been improved by adding slim vents in the front fenders. In the rear part of the car, you will notice narrow taillights and quad exhaust pipes. The whole vehicle seems sporty and aerodynamic.
We can inform you that there is much more space inside the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid than seen in the previous Porsche models. The driver will get a three-spoke steering wheel with thumb-controlled options and functions. In the center console, you will find a large 12.3-inch horizontal touch screen with the infotainment system and, of course, Porsche Communication management system. Options such as navigation, Apple Car Play, climate control and Porsche Connect Plus will be supported. In fact, it will be possible to set the climate control remotely, meaning even before you get inside your car, whether you need heating or cooling. As we have already mentioned, if you decide upon the Executive edition, you will get an extra space, but also more comfort, especially in the rear seats which will be adjustable in eight ways and get head rests. The four-zone climate control is also expected in higher trim.
The 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will be equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 and 550 horsepower. It will also have an electric motor which delivers 136 horsepower itself and a lithium-ion battery pack with the capacity of 14.1 kWh. The whole powertrain is expected to produce amazing 680 horsepower and 626 pound-feet of torque. Wow! It has also been said that the new E-Hybrid will take 3.2 seconds to hit 60 mph and the estimated top speed will be 192 mph. It will be mated to an eight-speed, dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission.
