After the first test driving in Sweden, when 2018 Land Rover Discovery showed its features and behave on ice, the second test driving has been more concrete and showed exactly what we needed to know. Now we are sure that Land Rover has gone further with the luxuries and elegance in styling, while engine option and performances are in second place. The new vehicle is more compact, with modern details and better equipment, light weight and luxury, so a new generation of the buyers will be more interesting in buying this model.
The 2018 Land Rover Discovery, as well as other two versions, Disco and Sport, is made on the Premium Lightweight Architecture Platform, which will affect the speed and driving performances. However, the design and shape are modern and more attractive than on last models. The front end has massive, wide and rounded shape, with wide air intake and front grille, covered with aluminum grids. Thin LED lights are well incorporated in rounded hood and bottom of the front bumper has massive protection. The rear end is almost flat, with a wide spoiler on the top of the truck door, with also thin rear lights and wide protection on the bottom. The whole car is actually squared, with flat roof and sides.
The cabin of 2018 Land Rover Discovery is roomy and modern designed, as much is possible for this size truck. Planned two colors in the cabin is actually a combination of the dark fabric and light leather on the seats and dashboard and steering wheel. Together with Evoque system and full digital panel, known from the last models of Land Rover. There are also power folding third-row seats, with the optional buttons for lifting the seats from the floor in versions planned for the markets outside of the US. However, there is still a problem with space in the third row for adult passengers. The equipment is still not shared with us, so we should be patient for that information.
The 2018 Land Rover Discovery is planned to be prepared for off-road driving, as well as for highway, so its engine must be strong and speed. The manufacturer has solved that with 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged intercooler DOHC 24-valve engine with 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. The speed of 60 mph increases for 6.7 seconds.
