2018 Buick Firebird & Trans Am – Legends Reborn

We are sure that many Buick fans are thrilled to hear that their favorite factory are planning to make a new/old model called 2018 Buick Firebird Trans Am, so the information about it sounds interesting. However, there is no official information from the factory and nobody actually confirmed that we should expect any of them.
The old model of Firebird has been removed from the market about 10 years ago, leaving people without any information if that decision will be changed in the future. The Pontiac Trans Am has lived only 7 years more and then gone, too. About that time Chevrolet made a new model, similar to Trans Am, called Chevrolet Camaro SS.

Tod Warmack, one of the owners and the creator of Trans Am Depot factory in Tallahassee in Florida, has made the similar model to Trans Am upgrading the Chevrolet Camaro SS. They used to repair old muscle cars, paint them, change and modernize the interior, put technology in the cabin and improve engine performances. Camaro has been very interesting to them, mostly because of similarities with unique Trans Am from 70’s, including the engine strength, design and the impression it leaves on the roads.

They were not alone on that difficult task. They actually used images from designer Kevin Morgan, who put them on the internet in 2008 and where he represented his vision of the future and possible look and shape of Trans Am car, based on the Chevrolet Camaro SS. Tod and his brother simply took his idea and put it into work. We know that model as Bandit Trans Am. To keep the exclusivity of the brand, they made in only 77 units for special buyers.

As the closest to the Trans Am performance model should be Chevrolet Camaro SS, they upgraded the 6.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with 840 horsepower and amazing driving performances. To reduce the noise in the rear end, they built in two exhausts with special silencers, so now you can hear only quiet tremor and brushing even on highest speed. Thanks to Brembo brakes it is a stable and safe car, with excellent gripping on the road.

2018 Buick Firebird & Trans Am Price

Warmack brothers spent more than 200 hours in painting the Trans Am, have changed more than 300 parts and performed the engine. Their work includes a lot of handmade work, graphic paintings and unique details so do not be surprised with the price of $75,000 for the base model. Finally, they made only 77 units, so the price should be over than for commercial models. However, this is only a possible version of 2018 Buick Firebird and Trans Am we know for and which could be found on the market as replacement of the popular performance US car. On the other hand, we have not been sure in Bandit Trans Am either, but there was a custom series for special buyers, so who knows, maybe the new Trans Am could be offered on the market in years to come.
